Patrice Tlhopane Motsepe The Chairman of Mamelodi Sundowns and he is the founder and Chairman of African Rainbow Minerals – a leading South African diversified mining and minerals company with long-life operations. He launched a new private equity firm, African Rainbow Capital, focused on investing in Africa in 2016. The mining magnate became the first black partner at one of the “big five” law firms, Bowman Gilfillan, in Johannesburg in 1994. He studied for a BA at the University of Swaziland and completed his law degree at the University of the Witwatersrand. Motsepe has a stake in Sanlam, a listed financial service firm, and is the President and owner of PSL club Mamelodi Sundowns. Born in Garankuwa, Pretoria, Motsepe bought low-producing mine shafts in 1994 and later made them profitable. Last year , Motsepe was ranked as the fourth richest South African, with an estimated net worth $2,4 billion. He is President Cyril Ramaphosa’s brother-in-law. Ramaphosa is married to Motsepe
